
CRITICAL CARE UNIT
The Critical Care Unit (CCU) serves as a place for monitoring and care for both pediatric and adult patients with severe physiologic instability, requiring technical or artificial life support, who have potentially recoverable conditions that can benefit from more detailed monitoring and invasive treatment. Critically ill patients are treated by multidisciplinary teams with the goals of achieve greater survival rate and recovery, relieve pain, discomfort and anxiety, all while preserving the patient’s dignity.
