PATIENTS' OBLIGATIONS

  • Patients at all times shall fulfill  their   obligations   and responsibilities regarding medical care and their personal
    • They shall know and exercise their rights as patients responsibly and reasonably.
    • They shall be considerate and make reasonable accommodations to the needs of the hospital, other patients, medical staff, and hospital employees.
  • Obey hospital policies
    • The hospital has obligations to provide efficient and equitable care to other patients and the community. Hospital rules and regulations are designed so that our staff can fulfill these obligations.
    • Provide accurate and complete information, including medications, hospitalizations, and past or present medical problems to his/her healthcare provider.
  • Report unexpected health changes, including pain, to a member of the healthcare team.
  • Understand the purpose and cost of treatment before deciding to accept Patients must take responsibility for requesting additional information or clarification about their health status or treatment when they do not fully understand the current information or instructions.
  • Accept consequence of own informed If he/she refuses treatment or does not follow the instructions or advice of the physician, the consequences of the decision must be accepted and the healthcare team relieved of any liability.
  • Settle financial obligations, if any.
  • Relation to others.
    • The patient shall conduct himself or herself so as not to interfere with the well-being or rights of other patients or hospital staff.
    • He or she shall adopt a considerate and cooperative manner, respect the rights of others, and follow the policies and procedures of the hospital.
  • Be responsible for recognizing the impact of their lifestyles on their personal health. A patient’s health depends on much more than health care services.
  • Exhaust grievance mechanism.
    • The patient must use the grievance mechanism of the hospital before filing any administrative or legal action.
