Face Shields no longer mandatory to areas under ALERT LEVEL 1, 2, 3

Written by Ruby Jane Espinosa

Mandatory Face Shield use in the country has officially been lifted by President Rodrigo Duterte as Covid-19 cases continue to fall.

Face shields will only be required in areas where there’s still a strict granular lockdown and under Alert Level 4 and 5 according to a memorandum from President Duterte’s office. The latter has regarded the wearing of these personal protective equipment as “cumbersome,” at a briefing aired late Monday.

However, face shields must still be worn in hospitals, healthcare centers, doctors' clinics, and other healthcare facilities.

Wearing of face masks and following of public health standards also still remain a requirement and may be effective until threats of Covid-19 continue to occur in the country.
