JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) officials and personnel are looking forward to the donations promised by the USAID RTI REACHHEALTH, which is anticipated to be of great help for the COVID response soon. According to Dr. Ramon Moreno, Chief of Hospital of JRBGH, USAID sees a huge need for the hospital as it has been a partner of CDO LGU since the administration of Mayor Oscar Moreno.
Among the equipment submitted by JRBGH to USAID are additional hospital beds, high flow respirator with accessories, mechanical ventilators, portable X-Ray machines, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, suction machines, infusion pumps, CCTV cameras, rapid antigen test kits , UV box including nurses and medical technologists. Meanwhile, Dr Moreno revealed that USAID has already committed to such requests and JRBGH is just waiting for them to arrive.
JRBGH is still below Level I hospital receiving COVID-19 positive patients despite not being a COVID referral hospital. It will be recalled that the Department of Health already has the application for JRBGH to become this Level II hospital and it continues to expand the infrastructure to meet the need for medical services not only in Cagayan de Oro but also neighboring provinces.
